Become a Mission Builder (volunteer)

Interested in giving your time and gifts to missions? We receive volunteers from two weeks up to three months.

Mission builders serve at the YWAM base supporting our ministries and long-term missionaries through practical jobs such as construction, maintenance, kitchen and some ministry activities. We will do our best to place you in a working environment that suits your abilities and desires while simultaneously helping us meet our current needs.

As a Mission Builder, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our long-term missionary members and develop meaningful relationships, gaining insight into full-time service. Mission Builders can serve for as little as 2 weeks and as long as 3 months. After 90 days, we encourage you to consider taking the next step with Youth With A Mission and to participate in our Discipleship Training School.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 18 years old (children can come with their parents).

  • To be a committed Christian with a heart of service.

  • To have the capacity to adapt to living and working in an intercultural community with young people and simple living conditions in rural Costa Rica.

  • To fill out an application with reference through Mission Builders International.

  • To pay a volunteer fee: 170,000 CRC per month (this includes food and housing).

We did outreach to the school children in villages, to the homeless, Youth night, Family night services, kids club for the local children, maintenance on a cabin bathroom, sewed linings for curtains, taught painting classes to school children and a women’s International Day and did lots of cooking, cleaning, praying, fellowship and learning.
